Adobe Reader DC - Free download and software reviews. Pros. It's free and fast enough (running a SSD so everything's fast). Adobe is probably working on fixing it?
Cons. This is the most unstable piece of software on my computer right now - it crashes frequently so saving is more important than ever. The update made the saving process cumbersome by introducing a new (buggy) UI instead of using the standard windows GUI. It always directs you to save to the cloud first and doesn't remember your saving preferences. Viewing preferences are also not saved so I have to close side panels and navigation panels each time I open a document - very annoying. Does NOT autosave, does crash to desktop frequently when running multiple open documents. Summary. I've lost all sorts of data due to crashes which is lowering my productivity.

As large as 3. D video games were in the late '9. Has processes running in the background to quick start the program because it is so large. Summary. Adobe Reader DC is an 8. MB download, and results in a installed size of about 3.
MB! This is huge! As big as, say the video games Half- life 1 + Opposing force + Blue Shift! For users that don't need many features, besides being able to read the PDF, highlight, insert text anywhere in the PDF, fill in fields, sign and copy text from the PDF, Adobe Reader DC is highly, highly bloated. I can do the same thing with Fox- it Reader 2. MB, installed! The current version of fox- it is a 4. MB install file, so it's bloated too. Adobe and Foxit should make light versions of their PDF readers for people that don't need many of the features the full program has.
Or have these features as plugins, so during the installation process, users can choose what features they want, and which they don't. Reply to this review. Was this review helpful?(0) (0) Pros. Modern- looking. Cons. Functionally, a big downgrade from XI. XI was good, fairly quick, fairly flexible (except for not being able to underline without giving up a third of your page real- estate), did most of what you need to. DC, if you're lucky, might open your file after a bit of a wait.
Summary. Does Adobe even care what the users think? Reply to this review. Was this review helpful?(0) (0) Pros. It's free. But then again so are alternatives like Foxit Reader. Cons. The interface minimizes useful document- displaying area and maximizes buttons and tabs that are never used.
With a modern laptop screen whose vertical resolution is not very high, it becomes a very large obstacle to productivity. Summary. I recommend using a third- party alternative such as Foxit Reader. I have no affiliation with either maker. But the latest Adobe Acrobat DC is so awful I will promote just about anything else. A stone tablet even. At least that doesn't try to push cloud service in your face. Reply to this review.
Was this review helpful?(1) (0) Pros. It is pretty. It looks clean. Cons. I have been using DC for quite a few months now, and I a realizing it isn't going to get any better. Features are so well hidden you have to use the search and there is no way to see the sense in how everything is organized here. There are so many quirks and annoyances you must learn to have it be functional. Try to find the touch up reading order tool.

Not the panel; the tool. The instructions provided in no way align with the application (unless they are instructions for a Windows interface). It is a complete time suck to figure out how to do something that should be simple. Summary. Worst update (and most severe) Adobe has ventured into.
Almost unusable. Reply to this review. Was this review helpful?(2) (0) Pros. Opens multiple files in the same instance using tabs. Cons. Crashes a LOT on my Windows 1. Has sidebars that pop up with EVERY new tab despite them being closed repeatedly. Summary. Was this review helpful?(1) (0) Pros. Nope, can't think of any. Cons- terrible user interface. Absolutely regret updating to DC from 1. It was so easy to use and simple which I like. There was no problem with 1. If only there was a way to go back..
